All children will be required to wear a pfd, and they will be available for adults that want one.

Don't remember the exact age for the required pfd, but it's mantioned on their website FAQ page.

As far as the predicted carnage, that is total nonsense. The captain is responsible for any hazzards or damages caused by his boat and it's wake. They are not going to chance fines, and law suites for a low speed "thrill" ride.

It's been discussed many times here about the problems with people who think they are being safe, and courteous by slowing down when they see another boat.  But unless they slow down to an absolute crawl, which isn't even possible with heavy current, they are causing more wake related problems for others than if they just kept on plane, and passed with minimal wake.

I don't know how popular this is actually going to be on Taney. Unless people like getting completely soaked by 50 degree water, not sure that many will ride it.  Looks like on this video its a pretty wet ride, esp when they slam on the reverse gates and it nosedives into the water.

My folks rode one on a trip with a tour bus company and the jet boat loaded up all these older retired people into a boat to fly up the Colorado.

Needless to say - they all got soaked and no one was pleased about it - my Dad was ultra mad because the driver kept making those turns that cause the water to rooster tail up and then he would drive it. Cold water.. no life jackets .. everyone very angry.

I think this is a horrible idea for Taney and I bet it doesn't last.

I say why not, don't we already forfeit large sections of our waterways to the loud and obnoxious. Our society doesn't value peace and tranquility, we look at our waterscapes as playgrounds  for idiots and we even admire those who turn them into amusement parks.

As for regulations... we all know that's a bad word.

When I'm an old man I think I'll give up all public water and spend my time trespassing on tiny creeks. I'd just as soon take my chances with gun toting, paranoid red necks. If they want to kill an old man with a fly rod I'll accept that fate.

Branson is changing. Or at least to survive it will need to. This attraction is certainly aimed at the younger, and young at heart visitor. Anybody going on a jet boat thrill ride not expecting to get wet is like somebody riding the log flume at SDC and expecting to stay dry.

Completely different boats, and water. Those are whitewater jet boats on an already very rough stretch of water. The only thing remotely similar to the Branson boat is the jet drive.

Hate to tell you "younger" has no $, Gmaw and Gpaw yeah, snowflakes don't do "outdoors" anyways Taney because the waters are COLD doesn't have the huge waters sports usage like TR, but at least on TR you can always find a spot away from jet skis and tubers, Taney is way too small IMHO for that type of boat tour...a boat that size doing 360s prob toss bigger waves than JimBobs bass boat with the 300 merc on it

nothing prohibits them to run UP lake if they so chose, if the thing has 2000 hp then they guy is being disingenuous on his intent....I am all for some one making a living...yet you can bet once the fisherman leave for quieter places to fish, you can count on the casinos rolling in, One thing I understand is demographics ( I ran my own advertising agency for years) and the direction of Branson as the Las Vegas of the midwest continues....I'd rather see the change more to natural wonders and less things like this jet boat tour...whats next fighter jet rides a tree top level? Im sure it will be a hoot

I remember when I would fish Taney in winter back in the day even up by the dam you could only see a hand full of people and the fish ran huge... catching a 4# average limit was not unheard of...I don't like fishing in the roar of PWCs, Skiers and pontoon boats full of drunks blaring music...something is to be said for a misty evening..a mink running down the bank... the sound of the water and wildlife,.....even the night sky full of stars not obscured by light Pollution...California the birthplace of radical tree hugging environmentalists became that way because of the demand a population can put on beautiful places,
