STLbassbuster Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 The problem lies with allowing individuals to own docks on the lake. It's too far gone to ever go back. Look at bull shoals, Stockton, north fork, table rock etc as they only allow some marina's & community docks. It is what it is at this point. I just fish around it by going in the spring & fall.

I like to troll for walleye and in that regard the docks on the lake are a PITA. If I was betting, I would guess the count of boats housed in individual docks is a smaller number relative to those in condo docks but you have to take the bad with the good(or vice versa) - the money on LOZ does keep the lake level stable and it has been fishing massive through this spring while the other lakes have been largely inaccessible. You can't even visually inspect much of it. All of these boats that burst into flames every year are 100% attributed to the kind of half-assed maintenance and service that gets done while on the hoist. I did "service calls" on the docks for years and I'll openly admit to cutting corners just to avoid another trip back up the hill to the truck. That's no way to work on a boat, take that sucker to the shop where all the good tools and parts are. tho1mas and MoCarp 2
Old plug Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Tell me about it Wrench. I know tou know I had ro rewire my running light this past couple dqys. I tell you I spent more time trying to put electrical connector together and put the panels back inthe boat when I was done. I was bouncing and rolling around pretty good considering I have a lot more lift than I need(6000 lber) that locks in the up position to boot.
Old plug Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 I see in the people around me a goodô deal of anger about what is going on here. It is all about money and having to much of it coupled with the nations current attitude. I will aay this I have a terrible attitude about most summer people.
Hydro 205 Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 In my tritoon today we went from the 9mm to the toll bridge and down to duck head. Saw several boats plowing away. Water patrol running right past them. Nothing will never be done. It's a money thing. I do think that the new break wall policy will help. They need to do that with the floating wave breaks where it lets the wave break over it some on an angle to deplane the water instead of bouncing it back out into the lake.
Gavin Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 It is a bit crazy down there. You should not need a 40' boat to run that lake safely on the weekend, but you do.
