Don't bet on it.

There will be a "special" exemption provided for those babies and their boat cribs.

Kinda like health care - WE ain't using that crap but it'll be GREAT for you losers!

We put in solar on our two well dock.  140w panel and I can't remember how many amp/hours storage in the two batteries, but the guy who sold it to us said we could use both lifts 20+ times on a sunny day and never get into the batteries.  Not sure if that's true, but we've lifted boats a bunch of times in one day and batteries were full at end of day.  Don't do anything heavy duty with it but it runs filet knife, lights, pump for power washer...with no issues.  We've had it for three years and couldn't be happier.  Company that put it in was Power Source Solar in Springfield.  Not cheap, but peace of mind when you have 6 kids swimming around dock.

There's a company that makes a boat charger that you can plug directly into a lead from the solar batteries and it will charge your boat batteries also.  Can't remember name of company, but I have one of their chargers sitting in garage waiting until I get motivated enough to find someone to install.  I'm not going to attempt as I'm electrically inept.

I like the idea of batterie powered utilities ob a boat dock. But of your charging batteries you can still electrocite yourself because of the amperage. We keep a lage spreadcout oramentsl garden. Water for that cones from the lake. I have a 2hp pump on the dock it would make short work of and solar arrangement I think

Here is another stupid issue with this from the Corp.

we just got our dock permit renewed but to do so we had to take off two 50 lb each hanging swings because of a new COE policy because of the weight can cause structural issues.

How much weight do you think those solar panels and batteries will be compared to those two swingsets?

Going to make recharging trolling motor batteries interesting, especially at night.

Need one of these. A guy up in Canada that had an off grid cabin had one and said he never had to charge his trolling motor batteries all season. Not sure if he had the Stealth or Minn Kota.  https://www.minnkotamotors.com/Battery-Chargers/On-Board-Chargers/DC-Alternator-Chargers/

This could be a heckuva business opportunity for a solar business.

We have had solar on our 20 slip condo dock for over a year now and it works great. It has an inverter switch that you turn on to get power and it stays on for 4 hours then turns off. We have lights and outlets at every stall and have never had a problem. We even fished a lot during the winter and our batteries charged just fine.

I would be surprised if this originated from the COE, I could be wrong about that, but I have to believe this came from "above".

It's from the revised shoreline management plan. Go to their FB page, there is a link there. Makes you wonder if all these people making all these proposed rule changes to our lives are brain dead. They must be!
