Our neighborhood has an app for your phone called Nextdoor.  Twice in the past two months someone has posted about car or garage break-ins to warn others.

We have that here but it is infected with the presence of a certain ding-a-ling neighbor that is always "seeing things" and is the "victim" of almost weekly break-ins and thefts.   In the last year he has had someone ransack his house and steal prescription meds, has seen a pair of guys sitting on his back porch that vanished into thin air when he went to grab his gun,  has had the fuel siphoned from his truck at least 3 times and then someone supposedly drilled a hole in his fuel tank another time.  He has seen multiple cougars in the neighborhood, and is always seeing copperheads and rattlesnakes.  Has seen ghosts, and once carried on a 20 minute conversation with Jesus.

The rest of us here......we never see anything exciting. 🤔

Facebook market place has alot of fishing items. If you have FB, check there. I HATE  a thief. Built a new house several years ago, and on the 9th day after moving in, i just happen to come hone early from work before my wife and kids. Those bastards drove their truck thru my sliding glass door and into the living room. Loaded up everything they could, and left burn out marks thru the dining room on outside. The feeling of being violated mentioned before comes to mind. That was the one word my wife used often during that time. They took all of her panties out of her drawers and slung them thruout the house. Didnt touch mine, but i dont blame them. Her issue was, they seen our pictures on the walls and know what we look like. We didnt know crap about them. Atleast for 4 days until they were busted. I was a Deputy at the time but the department wouldnt let me work my own case. Looking back im glad they didnt. There were 11 of them, all between 15 and 21 years old. We didnt get a single item nor restitution out of it.  Insurance covered the $4000 in damages.  I hate a thief.

I have been watching FB Marketplace (and Craigslist) like a hawk and set alerts to notify me of anything with the keywords tackle, lures, bait, fishing, etc.  Like @MOsmallies said, I am sure all of that crap means nothing to them and they are probably clueless about the real value of all that gear.  The thought of it getting pawned for $20 bucks makes me flipping angry.

I had a neighbor like that. I went by his place one time heard him talking loud to someone. I couldn't see them

I have to tip my hat to @MOsmallies and @Fish24/7. Mosmallies left some tackle on my doorstep last week and got me started with a new box, lures, and terminal tackle and Fish24 /7 offered to send me some as well.

I am truly humbled by the generosity fellas.
