Devan S. Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Way back when the browning air stream rod was mentioned I bought one for a crappie rod. I kept telling myself I needed to buy another because I liked it so much. Now that I've committed to buying one I can't seem to find them. Google shows up nothing promising. I'm planning on visiting Johnny World on Saturday to look. Any other obscure tackle store that might have one? What about something that is close in function in the same price range?
Ham Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 As far as I know, they are a Bass Pro Shops item ONLY. I have two in active rotation and two new ones in a rack. They will cease production at some point. I've straight up lost one while yakking and had a cousin break another one being a knucklehead. It happens. I also did have my air stream stream rod broken just beofre our trip down to Arkansas this summer. Was a bad holiday accident when your table top Xmas tree falls and breaks your fishing rod.
vernon Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 What's a knucklehead? Kind of a self-identity crisis issue for me actually. In fact, I've wondered what a knucklehead is for my entire life and still feel no closer to an answer. When I would ask my dad why he kept calling me that all he would tell me is, "You'll figure it out some day." Still lost over here and wondering who I am? Seth Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 I still need to pick up one of the 7'6" models for drifting under a float on Taney. The 6'6" model I bought last year is amazing! I've got a more expensive 6' Falcon ultralight rod as well and I still end up using the Airstream more often.
176champion Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Did someone call me? I read knucklehead and I resemble that.... seems the older I get the more knuckleheaded I become.. I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
Blll Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Since we are being self depreciating, anyone want to fess up how many rods they have just dropped/kicked overboard? I've fished a long time and can notch 3 overboard. My worst one was a terrific bait caster I made on a Loomis blank. But I've also snagged up at least 4. So I guess I'm ahead.

I'm baring my very soul here and all you can do is kick me when I'm down?
