Since we are being self depreciating, anyone want to fess up how many rods they have just dropped/kicked overboard? I've fished a long time and can notch 3 overboard. My worst one was a terrific bait caster I made on a Loomis blank. But I've also snagged up at least 4. So I guess I'm ahead.

I do most of my fishing while wading. I would really kick myself if I lost one next to the bank. Now don't ask me how many tips I may have broken . I have lost only one overboard and can vividly remember what it looked like as it drifted into the depths.

Happened to me with my wedding ring at the diving bluff at Tablerock.  Watched it tumble into the depths for what seemed like 5 minutes.

I thought you were tougher than that.

Well, yeah, kinda sorta but not when I'm expressing my most inner self.

That's when I'm at my most vulnerable.

I am not willing to except the karma of talking about how many rods I've kicked overboard, how many rod tips I've broken, how many sets of keys I've lost, how many cell phones I've broke, how many life jackets have blown out, how many pairs of sunglasses that just vanish, or how many times I've lost my wedding ring.

Knock on wood, I shouldn't even talk about not talking about it. No sir, I'm not gonna jinx myself saying those numbers aloud.

I'd like to thank my FUTURE sponsers: Falcon Rods, Jewel Bait Co, and Seagar

Snagged, I’ll assume it wasn’t the one you gave your wife that was still on her finger. That would be cruel.  I solved the problem of my ring coming off by gaining enough weight that I can’t get it off my finger.

I have never kicked a rod overboard, however a gentlemen I fish with often have done it twice with me, his rods.  Both times in his boat, both times we saved it.  Both times required a headlong dive from the back deck and flopping over the throttle to grab it, resulting both times in some impressive bruising as I bruise very easily.  The last time he ended up completely overboard trying to grab one I already had a grip on.  To be fair to him he has like size 16 feet.  I keep.my rods far from him.
