Of course it bears mentioning most folks in the UK don't have the opportunity to fish for trout, salmon, pike, bass, etc.  If they had the options available in the states, they may make a different decision.  That makes a direct comparison between the economic benefit there and the economic benefit here is kinda meaningless.

I told the person in the CT River Video Iain Sorrel the above statement he responded; below are some Brits on the same questions

Quote

that's utter nonsense!  how about Chew home to brown trout to 22lb, Rainbows to 14lb and pike to 44lb (even a 40lb pike on a fly!). They tried stocking LMB in the UK (near USAF bases) back in the 40's & 50's. Poor things got eaten by the pike & perch, This one covers everything but the bass fishing... all on a day ticket as well! http://www.southernfisheries.com/homethefishery.html  Iain Sorrel*

"I have caught trout and pike in the UK. Haven’t caught a salmon but there is the option to catch them here. But as I grew older I preferred carp fishing so focused only on carp fishing". Arron Smith*

" I’ve yet to hand a rod with a carp on the end to an American angler who hasn’t pissed himself with excitement at the fight he experienced.
I Rest. My Case". Mark Fullbrook*

" I am a Brit from Rugby in central England. Everybody has the opportunity to fish for pike; we dont have bass, but we do have zander( walleye) and perch that grow bigger than American perch ( so not everything in the US is bigger...). Trout fishing on reservoirs is available to everybody as well. Salmon...not really. I am not sure what the point is here. I fish for carp because I have a lot of respect for them..I have little respect for bass or stripers and no respect for stockie trout and so I dont fish for them." Tony Locke*

In the end the reality that carp fishing stands on its own merit..against other forms of fishing and more than holds its own....the big business that is euro-angling for common carp..will be that and more in the US..

haters will hate...deniers with keep hoping its not true or isn't happening......

wrench " your crusade is having a backward effect" sorry but people like you were always going to toss a carp into the bushes or stomp one into the mud thats if you could ever ever land one, more like shoot one spotlighted like a deer helpless in a cornfield at night..

I still get 5 people contact me on learning more about carp angling,  for every one nasty insulting post....I can live with that...

I said I would share new pro carp regulations as they happened....there will be more

I am blessed to know some of the most professional people I have ever met in carp angling.....

But you are the only one HERE that seems to feel that way.

It's not a "haters will hate" thing. It's a Carp Diarrhea thing that everyone is sick of. If you want to be an ambassador of the sport you would be better off just shutting the F up for awhile. But I don't think you have the intelligence to understand that.

I followed the link to Davis Tackle for a "ticket".  Which I assume there is a charge.  There may be "opportunity" to fish for other species over there but it will cost you.  I on the other hand can pop my boat in just about anywhere and fish without a "ticket".

then STOP clicking and hit the ignore.....then the only people "here" will be the converts that thank me for posting.....and as long as people bully any carp posters..they bolt....but not before the HMU....I even got a freebee pack from a bait company in the UK that I am sending samples out to a couple of OAF readers to sample Ill post their results for you when I get them ;)

yeah they pay to fish, especially carp....they even must pay a TV license there, perhaps thats why so many more people there, than here, go fishing? (per capita)

The website says "game" and "course" fish.  I think we know the difference between those:lol:.  I couldn't find prices online but your telling me the ticket for "course" fishing is more then the ticket for "game" fishing?

And the rest of us mostly just don't care.  I am not gonna hit any ignore button, I have thumbs I can use them to ignore goofy posts, although sometimes I think I am in an episode of Cheers and Norm the mailman is expounding on something.

Same thing happened to me in Arkansas on the white.  A couple from Great Britain asking a bunch of questions.

I have not seen one single person on Beaver, Table Rock or numerous other lakes around here fishing with all the European carp gear.  Let alone seeing Brits fishing for anything, though I am sure there are a few fishing the White.

Could be a person or two that has a forked stick propping up a rod on the bank may be targeting carp, but I have yet to see one single person fishing with the Euro gear.  And why would you?  Who needs an alarm to tell you you've got a bite?  Unless you passed out from boredom waiting 3 days for a bite, because apparently they spend hours preparing "ballies" (whatever they call them) to use as bait, but yet they can't get a carp to bite on them unless they fish for a week, heck, I ball up some wet Wheaties on a treble hook and maybe wait 15 minutes and ol' bugle mouth will be all over it.
