MoCarp Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 I have often heard about how "ugly" common carp are, and an old beat up fish from muddy water isn't very eye appealing, yet here is the states we have "feral" fish that lack the better breeding seen in the UK...bloodlines there seek 3 things faster growth, long life for larger size and appearance ...some of the most beautiful fish are Koi, common carp that have been selectively bred for 1000 years for color, scale patterns and fin shapes.....if someone did that for any fish over time could create something interesting...largemouth bass sometimes have a blue and orange color phase..... snagged in outlet 3 Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 I used to catch my mom's koi with dry flies in her pond on the patio. Until she caught me and smacked me upside the head. They fought pretty well I guess for a 8 x 10 pond. Ham and MoCarp 1 1

There's a fly fisherman on here that has caught some of her koi as well☺. Ham and BilletHead 2
BilletHead Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 Except the other koi pond is like 60 X 120 or so and 10 feet deep. Lets see for the going price of koi I can arrange daily fees of five hundred or so. The only stipulation is it is a catch and eat pond.
