Lvn2Fish Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Doesn’t the electro fishing have to be in relatively shallow water ? I would think it would be hard to shock fish up from 50 ft deep ?
Sprint21fter Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 I heard some rumors of several bass that died during the fall turnover this year. Heard that they were all laying on the bottom instead of floating but those are just rumors. Something to think about the skinny fish with alot of food. We as people have access to as much food as we want to pay for yet some of us are skinny, chunky, or bigger than most. I think if you are catching fish that are chasing shad they are skinnier. If you are catching fish eating bluegill they are stalkier bluegill don't move as much in my opinion they are their own predator. If you are catching a bass eating craws which have more protein and it doesn't take alot of running around to get full. Okay I m done just my thoughts on the fishery.

They generally try to do it at night and in the late spring/early summer when the greatest number of fish are apt to be up shallow. Still, in my opinion, it only tells part of the story with LMB and hardly anything about the SM and spots. There just aren't a lot of tools available to do a reasonably accurate population density study for bass in a lake the size of Table Rock. MOPanfisher, mojorig, top_dollar and 1 other 4

What are you sayin, Sprint? Huh? Huh? That maybe I need to chase more shad and lay off the bluegill and craws? evilcatfish, vernon and terryj1024 2 1
Lvn2Fish Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 This one looked like a 7 lber when it swam by . Ended up being sick and skinny weighing only 4.11 . Look at the sores on her . On another note the other fish caught that day were just fat as can be. Full of shad.
Sprint21fter Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 Fish over on Bull Shoals have alot of sores on them as well.

I believe that is what I recall.
MoCarp Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 this subject is interesting, some bass food is more nutritious than others, are bass chasing food and burning up more energy than they are retaining? also how many fish burn up energy getting caught over and over? how long after a bass is caught hauled around in a live well return to "normal"? Are too many tournys having a negative effect? also are stressed caught fish have a greater vulnerability to parasites? more questions than answers at this point MONKEYS? what monkeys?
