Royal Blue Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 It looks like most of the guys with good bags are notorious crankers and spinnerbait guys too.
Bill Babler Posted April 20, 2018 Author Posted April 20, 2018 I have nothing but respect for whom ever caught anything today. It was totally brutal. We fished a 4 hr trip out of the dam area for a total of 6 fish. All keepers the best was a 3 pound jaw on an A-Rig. All the rest Swimmer jaws on a Blue Bandit Mc Stick. Nothing on an under spin or a swimbait. North wind was just Horrindious 2.5 footers between Indian Pt and Kimberling. Bottom baits cover immediately with slime in this area out to 20’ just about as tough in that area as it can get http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 Only 50 limits out of 197. Ouch... And half of the guys are fairly local

The latest trend I've noticed more of lately is the guy unhooks the fish and quickly throws the bait over the side so you can't see it. I don't blame him but I that's why I watch is to see new techniques and baits.
Sore Thumbs Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 Several guys said they were sight fishing for spawners. What area would that be? Up the rivers?
Sore Thumbs Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 Everyone I talked to that fished today said it was tough.
Hughesy Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 Stacey King made a nice jump from 34 (I think?) to 5th. 15.11 lbs. Only 2 lbs out of 1st. mixermarkb, big c and magicwormman 3
Sprint21fter Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 Wonder who will have more weight? Co-Angler is doing work! 31 pounds behind the pro. Always interesting on Table Rock.
Bill Babler Posted April 21, 2018 Author Posted April 21, 2018 Just talked to Mike. He said he was really worried about Stacy. Thought Stacy might be on em I’ll let you know how Michael fished after the derby The guys that started later today had the best bags. The early bite is over by 8 AM. It may last longer tomorrow with clouds. Big dead spell from 8 till close to noon then they really get going. Mike only had 1 fish at 11:30. Then it was on He has had a big 4 plus pound LM off a single spot both days and two 3.8 pound jaws off a single spot on a Mc Stick both days, late Everyone starts at the same time tomorrow and that will level the field and be really fair big c, Quillback, Ranger Z22 and 3 others 6 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Sore Thumbs Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 I’m interested to see what he used. At weigh in he said he caught that LM on a Rock Crawler. Didn’t say what color but did mention the fish wrapped around a tree which makes me think steep banks were close. Be happy to see King win it as well. He has had a rough few years. Quillback and grizwilson 2
