They were right about you mis-quoting and twisting.  I said I have never seen an 8 # walleye in 5 years of diving, but you said you can catch 4 in 1 day while rod and reel fishing.

the way YOU wrote your statement suggested you ONLY saw 4 fish that were big walleyes in your 5 years of spearfishing saw as in stabbed...and I have caught a four fish limit of walleyes where the smallest was 6# posted the picks a while back...back when like many  went through a meat fishing faze...ah the ignorance of my youth grasshopper...

So you are anti-food fishing.  That eliminates a large percent of the angling public  when your looking for people to scream with you. Good luck to you sir.

no not at all but if you are going to eat fish don't eat the Trophy sized ones, eat the more numerous smaller fish

Quote

Your not saying much positive about them.  They are still non native and destructive, and people may start screaming to kill them even if they have been here for 140 years.

people have been screaming and if you do you research common carp are the most chased sport fish in the world and depending on the exchange rate anywhere from 7-9 billion dollars is spent each year far more than is spent on largemouth bass here in the USA

Quote

Do you think people will think silver jumping carp are good after 140 years.

prob not considering they filter feed just like shad and paddlefish

Quote

However, it doesn't mater,  you completely missed the point of me posting that.  I'm not here to debate common carp.  It was used as an example, but you missed it completely.  But actually you made my point, which was Just because someone is uneducated in a subject and screams loud, does not mean that they are right, and that the regulation actually accomplishes anything.  I knew you would be passionate about carp and used that as an example.

if you knew anything about me the narrative of "uneducated" would be a fools choice, I'd gladly chat with you on a few other of my interests....as far as new rules and regulations our local , state and federal gov are rife with special regulations to special interest groups in this case scuba stabbers that got the regulations changed to shoot game fish in Arkansas

Anyway, I don't think you're getting a lot of support on here,

my inbox says otherwise

and you're not understanding half of what I am trying to tell you, so please post your multiple state record Longear pictures when you get a chance.

going through some old pics trying to find the 10" one I caught from a pit in the 80's caught it on a popping bug flyfishing from a float tube

Taney is a great example. Allows for both harvest and restrictions but that is not what your championing for right? You don't want a compromise.

yes!  I'd bump of the size a bit in the trophy area but its a step in the right direction

I actually read your comments S-L-O-W-E-R this time and they still didn't connect the dots for me. Sorry. I swear I'm actually highly educated but reading comprehension isn't my strongest strength.

this is kind of like texting sometimes the post seems more whistle than it is

What if Billethead said his opinion any fish not harvested by fly rod and artificial fly was not fair chase?

Would you disagree with him? Would you ask him to clarify the reasoning why his opinion differs from yours?

fly fishing is a real deal and I am going to do far more of it if I get my health back ( slowly I am) I have a number of people that fly fish for carp and its the chitz ...and in some waters you can ONLY fish for them by the fly, so he has waters where his opinion is a reality

Quote

What if he continued to say because its fair chase were not all out here throwing jerkbaits/arigs on spinning/bait cast equipment. Were not all down here running them down with that dang whopper plopper.

Instead what if he formulated an argument as such:

I believe that the use a bait casting/spinning setup allows you to reach a significant distance farther that an fly rod thus increasing your effective area covered which puts the fish at a disadvantage. Those fish are no longer within a range that they know you are present and therefore they feel more comfortable with taking a chance at an artificial lure.

I also believe that the artificial lures commonly used in both spinning fishing and bait casting setups contain multiple hooks and are fished at such a speed that the fish cannot make anything but a split second reaction to determine if the lure is a lure or actual prey. In fact this is evidenced by the number of fish that are caught with these lures in which they are not located in their mouth but attached to the side of their face. It is much fairer to use a slow artificial presentation in which you actually pit your skill working the lure against the fishes natural instincts to choose whether to bite and the lure is embedded into his jaw instead of his eyes.

This is exactly what I want from you in the comparison of the spear fishing to spot lighting deer or shooting turkeys off the roost. I want to know exactly how and why your making that link.

well its for sure less lethal than stabbing them...and MOST states place stab harvesting gamefish in the same vein as spot lighting deer or shooting turkeys off the roost. or running down pronghorns with your F-150

May I suggest everyone stop?

Here’s a cure: Watch 2 or 3 episodes of “Leave It to a Beaver” and see how real life problems are solved 😄 I’m currently enjoying the episode where Mrs. Landers comes to dinner and Larry, Whitey and Gilbert spy on them from a tree. I won’t spoil it, but it’s some pretty good stuff and everybody’s happy by the time the credits roll.

Seriously, nobody’s gonna win this argument. The only question is who will be the bigger a##hole. And that’s not a contest you want to win. Walk away.

Ness has spoken. Y'all best heed his advise, I have good information that he can shoot fire from his fingers.

Is that the one where Eddie’s girl accidentally snorts all his heroin and they have to give her an injection in her heart?
