browning airstream rod

i was thinking of picking up a St.Croix panfish series spinning rod for casting light jigs for trout, but just noticed the Airstream series is on sale online at BPS for 39.97. Anyone have any thoughts on which length might best suit this technique? can't decide between the 6', 6'6", and the 7' versions. Im thinking the 6'6", but might just order all 3 and sort it out when they arrive.

I have only used the 7 footers. I think they are the best bang for your buck Zig Jig rod. I have fishing buddies that do just as well with the 6’6” model.

I'm sure the St Croix is nice, but I’ve caught 1000’s of fish on the Air Stream. I have 2 more new in plastic waiting for another accident to occur.

I have both the 6' 6" and 7' Airstream rods. The 7' has more spine and the one that I prefer between the two. Helps with hooksets on jig bites.

At Ham’s recommendation I bought the 7’ and love it.  I use it for trout jig fishing and I use it as a ned rig rod believe it or not.  Can’t beat it.

I have the 7' , 6'6", and 6' models. If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't buy the 6'6" model at all. It just feels funny and out of balance to me. I would lean toward the 7' model across the board. I don't have any major complaint on the 6' model but when I fish them side by side I can tell the 7' has a much stronger back bone.

I have used the 6.5 footer for several years and love it. Based on the recommendations of others on here, I bought a 6 footer to try this summer when they were on sale. After using both, I think I still prefer the feel of the 6.5 footer. It just seems like I miss more fish with the 6 footer. I'm guessing it's due to how I pop the jig and that little bit of extra tip that the 6.5 footer has lets me get away with delayed reaction hook sets since it flexes when a fish has it and doesn't stick them quite as hard as when I have the stiffer 6 footer.

I'd try the 6 and 6.5 footers before the 7 as they are quite a bit lighter and I just liked the feel of them over the 7'. That's for straight line jig fishing for trout. I'd be all about using the 7' for a jig and float rod, but then again I would just assume have a 9-10' crappie rod for that as well.

I went ahead and ordered all three....for less than the Price of the St. Croix. Free ship to store...can’t go wrong. I may just keep them all...we’ll see. I’m thinking the 7 footer may be a good jig/float rod for my son.

My intentions when I bought my last two were to go purchase a St Croix Premier. I had the St Croix in hand and then noticed the Air Streams were on sale. Back went the St Croix and I grabbed a pair of Air Streams and saved $30. Hard to beat for the $$$, espeically when you catch them on sale.

There are some Premiers I really like, but I value Air Streams more.

I got one last year 6.5ft due to all these guys posts  recommending it and i definitly have not been disappointed. So good for casting thos little jigs at trout, and i used mine quite a bit last year for crappie. 

         I think i said this before on here but i got mine at Bass Pro and got the 2 year extended warranty.  When i asked what it covered, the lady said just to break it over my knee before the two year mark so i can get a brand new one. And she said that is what BPS told them to say to sell the warranty.
