moguy1973 Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 I guess I’m one of those that are hated. One of the first things I did on my F150 was change out the crap halogen bulbs for LEDs. Color allows for thing to be seen far easier that the dull yellowish light the stock bulbs gave off. Driving in the rain with the halogens? Forget about seeing anything. I do have the LEDs aimed properly, maybe even a little lower than the stock ones and I can see 100% better. Our Honda Odyssey came stock with LED headlamps and they are outstanding. Even has auto dimming high beams. Its the jokers that throw the aftermarket bulbs on their rigs and don’t adjust anything that gives them a bad name. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

Old plug Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 Trucks and car get moire complicated for us old folks just like the TV. We are looking to replace our old ford Focus with a new Ford Eco sport Titanium This will be the First time we ever bought the top of the line Titanium. This thing is going to have more stuff than I think i can grasp easy to say the very least We are choosing it because it because my wife insist on something with 4 wheel drive option. That it has. Plus tooo much more(I think for a 80 yr old)in the smallest SUV ford has ever made. Its has the new type transmission Ford is bringing out called INTELLIGENT 4 wheel drive. I certainly hope so. When you look down on the Shifter You have in gear knob plus 3 more options.shifter is front wheel dive. . Then you got three other picture button by it. First is 4 wheel drive, that is all I really wanted to begin with. Then something that looks like Independent all wheel drive( something i hated in one of out old SUVs) . And last but not least something for driving through though grades. Then there are sensors that adjust things while you are driving like braking and speed. I admit to driving to close sometimes like on HWY K when we are visiting in St Charles.. As I understand it this feature will not let me do that. It will adjust your speed and apply breaks as needed. I wonder what could happen In the traffic crush on Hwy K if someone shoot in close in front of me going about 60 with another car close behind me. At the very lest if it applies brakes it is going to startle me.

My F150 work truck has had more senseless recalls and is the worst riding vehicle I have been in. 2016 must not have been a good year for them, that truck is a turd. But it is the only Ford I have ever been in. I have converted to Toyota, the Japanese have figured out how to make a motor vehicle perform. fishinwrench 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. slothman Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Toyota makes a great vehicle. My problem with them is they are (to me) extremely uncomfortable to sit and ride in. My dad and brother have been driving them for about 15 years now and they both love them. snagged in outlet 3 1
snagged in outlet 3 Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Yep jap cars and trucks have terrible seating and leg room. IMO. Very thin cushions and to short on the leg room. Driving a 2013 ram since new. Best truck so far of 6. All the others were GMC.
Flysmallie Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 My wife’s new ride doesn’t have a key, just a fob. So you carry the fob in your pocket and you can unlock/lock/start without taking it out. Yesterday we are at Lindenwood University and of course in a big hurry. Everyone is outside of the car and I pushed the button on the door to lock it but it wouldn’t lock and kept beeping at me. I looked through the window and on the instrument panel it said there was no key in the vehicle. Well no-monkey dodo-Sherlock it’s outside with me. So the car is yelling at me, my wife is yelling at me to hurry, and nothing is working. I finally had to get back in, start the car, put it in drive, put it back in park, turn it off, get out, and then lock the door. Technology is wonderful until it doesn’t work. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
snagged in outlet 3 Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Apparently you’re not adapting to your environment. I’d love to see your old lady yelling at you. 😂

We did a study on that for a computer science project in school which was pretty entertaining. And if you want to see her yelling at me you can stop by anytime. snagged in outlet 3 1

That's the way it is with me anytime we go somewhere. Everybody else hops out and goes right in, and there I am standing there in the parking lot waiting for the MFing lights to go out so I can lock the stupid thing. Then if it's someplace like the mall or Wal-Mart I have no idea where they went.....so I just wander to sporting goods, tools, or automotive and wait for someone to find me. And find me they will.... because eventually they are gonna want some money. 🙄 One time she called me on my phone and was all "where are you?" I said, remember that jewelry store we were at when you found that necklace you loved so much....but we couldn't afford it at the time? "YES! 😍" Well I'm at the tackleshop across the street from there. 😄 Quillback, slothman, Flysmallie and 3 others 2 4
