Hunter91 Posted January 20, 2019 Author Posted January 20, 2019 We have a few mounted already but I like the idea on the divers. My son has an eagle head snow mounted that looks good. BilletHead and Johnsfolly 2
ness Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 I think after seeing the feet down, cupped wing mount, I like the fly by showing the coloration better. Hunter91 and BilletHead 2 John

My son has an eagle head snow mounted that looks good. The shoveler looks a little stretched out. Like the gaddy too. I killed an ole double curl mallard one time. Bought the kit online and was going to mount him. Spent the time to skin him out and then left him too long in the freezer. Still have a mallard mounting kit if I ever decide to do one again. My hunting buddy learned his bird mounting skills in college mounting birds for lab work. He assisted in skinning it out. Pretty hard work with a scalpel. The bill and skull takes some work. My eyes and fingers are not as nimble to do it anymore. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Hunter91 Posted January 21, 2019 Author Posted January 21, 2019 Those were from a different taxidermist. The widgeon looks a little like a gad I guess. I do have a banded gad coming back this spring from our taxidermist. One of the boys I hunt with has a beautiful shoveler make the one I have look bad. But all those birds represent memories of great hunts ! tho1mas, Johnsfolly, Daryk Campbell Sr and 1 other 4

Johnsfolly Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 I have always liked the action diorama. Here is one that I saw this Sat of a peregrine chasing green winged teal. I love the action of the piece. What's even more amazing to me was that these were wood carvings and not read birds. Hunter91, nomolites, Daryk Campbell Sr and 4 others 7

jdmidwest Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 Never thought about mounting any raptors. I am sure many die a mistaken death on public land, good to see they can put them to good use. The meat is real stringy. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
