snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 I know you guys are into veggie gardening but my wife is a big flower nut. Peony’s Blooming. And columbine invader We have some 5th generation bearded iris just ready to burst. I’ve moved them 4 times to get them here st this house. All the houses inherited our gardens. MOPanfisher Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 I have been doing a little flower planting, since I can't do anything with my garden, it almost drues out enough to work and then another rain. Roses planted, moss roses planted, ready to re do strawberry bed once they produce and send out runners. Collapsed frame is over run with leaf lettuce and spinach, right now I am wishing for one of my dearly departed groundhogs to mow it down. Haven't seen any of them this spring, somehow last fall their holes all got a big dose of mothballs and then filled in.
ness Posted May 14, 2019 Author Posted May 14, 2019 Turns out it's not just one rabbit. No, that's not surprising, but we had only seen one at a time until last night when we spied a teeny leetle baby bunny. Shazbot! All the rain (4.75 inches MTD) is washing away the cayenne and my lettuce is getting eaten through the cages. Beans have had their first true leaves gnawed off so they're a bust. Peppers are gone but I've got three more to plant. Guess I'm gonna have to go all hillbilly and put up some chicken wire. Where are the foxes when you need them?? In other news, mother robin has given up on building on my front porch. tho1mas and BilletHead 1 1 John

I got fed up when they moved into the garage. They are making a come back after that fatal day though. This year I am going to wait for winter and eat those organic flower fed bunnies. I think it's time for Ol' Blue -- my official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot range model air rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing which tells time. BilletHead and Johnsfolly 1 1 John
fishinwrench Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Before Sugarbritches came along this was a cool little pond with a "spring" running into it and bass, bluegill, and crawdads. Now it's a flower garden 😁 BilletHead 1
