Quillback Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 So I'm rolling down AR HWY 94 doing around 55 when a skunk bolts out of the grass and runs right in front of the truck, no time to react, Pepe fortunately moved fast enough that he went under the truck at about the center line. Thought for sure either the trailer tires or the trailer cross bars would get him, but it was his (and my) lucky day as I felt no thumps from back there and no stink on the trailer when I got to the ramp. Fishing was great today if you like numbers, I caught 30 bass, exactly 30 as I quit when I caught the 30th. Only 5 keepers however. I think I got 6 on the 78 Pointer and the others came on the Ned rig. The bass look to be feeding on craws, had several with craw antennae sticking out of their throats. Fish were scattered, some spots better than others. Caught a few as deep as 20 feet, and the rest were in the 5 - 15 foot range. A couple on gravel, but rock runouts and ledge rock were the best. Only saw 2 other boats, and one of those came out the same time I did - he said he caught 10 bass, but one of them went 4 lbs. didn't ask what he was using. Johnsfolly Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Great trip QB! Congrats buddy! Can't wait to see you hold up some trout in Arkansas. Skunks breed in Feb. So your reference to the amorous Pepe Le Pew is apropo😁. JestersHK, Quillback and magicwormman 3
Smalliebigs Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Sweet looking Spot!!! Kudos to you.... someday I need to get some of you Ned guys to try a Small Craw and jighead
Royal Blue Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 If they're hanging at those depths, that crankbait bite should be getting HOT! Champ188 and snagged in outlet 3 2

Might throw one a bit next time. Dang cold weather coming back for a couple of days so may not make it back until next week. I threw a Shad Rap a bit, no luck on it.
Champ188 Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Donna and I are going this weekend. Will report back on a potential crank bait bite. Not sure where we may launch yet but somewhere in the White/Kings rivers area. Carl W, Royal Blue and Quillback 3
Bill Babler Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 With the depth of the fish lots of talk about either a wart or a RK Crawler, but not hearing good results. Switch to a jig or a ned and "Whoop there it is." Even on Bull right now the guys are talking the fish they are catching even on an A-rig are totally full of Mac-Daddy Craws. That water gets to 47/48 and above and I believe the crankers will get going, but for now, seems like something slow and creepy crawly. magicwormman, Royal Blue, Carl W and 2 others 5 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Good info, Bill, and you know my gal will be draggin' that jig, as well as the lil' critter. I'll play with the Wart/RK and a sticker out of the front and watch her kick my tail. I like it that way. David Goddard Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Dang thats quite a bit better than I did this past weekend; for numbers anyways. I've never went way up a major river arm on Table Rock, but I've been dying to go way up the White and see what I can do. I always have a hard time leaving the lower end. Maybe next trip!
