Here’s a picture of the first tied versions of my new HD Jigs. The 1/4 oz have a 1/0 hook and the 1/2 oz have a 2/0 hook in them. My friend Nick Jackson is guide on Pyramid Lake and also the Green River in Utah tied these up and his customer caught the first fish on one this morning!!

I'll be interested in getting some, I was watching a fishing show the other day, one of the Lindner's fishing what they called a "Hair Jig" for smallies on one of the Great Lakes.  Looked more like a marabou jig to me, anyway they were swimming it for pre-spawn smallies and doing really well.  They were using brown jigs and it looks like they had a strand or two of mylar in them for a little flash.

Most likely those were deer hair Jigs Jeff, but you can do a lot Worse things than throwing a Zig Jig for cool / cold water smallmouth. Look at the price on “Bass” marabou Jigs on Tackle Warehouse. Zig Jigs are a bargain.

Could've been - they did a close-up on the jig and it looked like marabou to me, but hard to tell for sure.

For sure the Zig jigs are a bargain compared to others.

Been trying to talk Richard into making some solid chartreuse jigs, smallies like chartreuse.  I talk to a veteran Table Rock fisherman that fishes, and catches a lot of winter bass on a chartreuse 1/8 oz crappie jig.

He had electric chicken for a while.

I have posted before about catching crappie on zig jigs and last time i got into some the ginger color in the 1/16 size was out fishing all our other plastic jigs about 4-1. And this was about 4 weeks ago in some really cold water. And they are always great under a bobber.

I bought some orange/yellow one especially for crappie fishing on Big Cypress Bayou.

I’ll let you guys know when I get the new ones ready to roll. I have guys catching a lot of smallmouth in Minnesota and other areas up north on the HD version now. The 1/8 and 1/16 when they are shallow.

When I saw the title of the thread I knew Pyramid Lake would come up!  I don't have much of a bucket list as I've already been everywhere and done everything  (I wish).  Except Pyramid Lake Cutthroat.  I seriously want to go there when the family does Vegas the next time.  Those will be up to the job!
