Found out my wife has Outdoor Channels on her TV so I have been watching her TV

I have always liked hunting and fishing other states even though we have the same here .

This is what my wife brings up every time that I could do the same here.

It all comes down to a different environment but can’t explain this to my wife.

Every time I travel to some far away place to catch fish I can't seem to ignore the fact that I'd have caught more fish if I had stayed at home.

Nothing wrong with a change in the scenery....if that is truly the reason why you are going there. Being on familiar water gives me more pleasure, and leaves me far more satisfied and relaxed at the end of the day.

Same applies to all these bass fisherman from StL and KC wrench. That come roaring out here. My son caught 3 LM bass last year over 5lbs in a public pond in the ST Louis area walking the bank.  That is 1 more than I did down here last season. I am sort of shopping for a home on a small lake up that way. Almost bought one a year or so ago in Hermann.

When I go outside my little home range it's simply for a small adventure with my buddies.  I have hauled my boat to Kirksville in early may to catch crappie and camp out.  Pointing out every access road that ked to Pomme, Truman, and LOZ that we could stop at and catch a limit of crappie and eat supper at home.  But it's the trip with buddies that make the trip, have had several that disn't pan out for crappie, mushrooms, or turkeys but still had a dang good time.  We camp in a barn on this old farmers place and end up helping him do oddjobs, might be replacing a broken front spindle on his old tractor, building a trailer or whatever odd little things he might need.  Often just as much fun as the hunting and fishing.

I had a 18/60 Jon with 70hp Nissan I sold it. 🙄

I live on the Niangua River so many say I live in Gods country  and have a Cabin by Truman Lake. I like what.

I like fishing in Kansas but like the looks of Oklahoma.

There's no gods on the Niangua, if you saw one you were either trippin' or you mistook one of the Burns boys for one.

Don't let those beards fool you.

Oneshot, you may be the only person I have ever heard say "I like the looks of Oklahoma".  Maybe I just haven't seen enough of it.

Oh they have Catfish. I’ve liked it for years.
