That’s a valid point. I wish it was closer. It’s definitely a lake I wanna to get to know better. Mainly because of less traffic in general. I need to look up lodging down there so it could be a regular place for my family and I.

Saturday will be your best day more than likely. What are the dates and cuts? I can't see the cuts on their website. I am probably just not getting to the right place. I'm attempting to go tomorrow but was going to avoid Table Rock if there was a ton of Costa Guys. I would think 10 Costa would be doable around the other events/watchers/normal anglers though..

5bites Posted May 11, 2019 Author Posted May 11, 2019 We ended up going yesterday and I’m glad we did. Traffic was not a problem in the Shell Knob area. We caught 55+ fish and 14 keepers. My youngest caught his first five fish limit and my oldest had a nice 17” smallmouth as part of his three keepers. To top it off Braums had good burgers for us as we went back through Aurora. It was a much needed good day. m&m, vernon, Quillback and 1 other 4

Heck, the worst thing that coulda happened woulda still been better than not going at all. I tend to over think the fun out of stuff. It’s probably because my boys are with me pretty much every trip now so it adds a different element to it. If it’s just you and a buddy then it makes the day a little easier and less hectic if that makes sense. vernon and magicwormman 2

If you got good burgers at the Braum's Aurora, that's an even bigger surprise than a good day fishing. Quillback, Smalls21, 5bites and 1 other 4

Just think, some day you'll be a cranky old man and the boys will have to put up with taking you in their boat. 😜 magicwormman and 5bites 1 1

The cranky part is coming along nicely. That’s a big motivator behind this topic haha! Traffic, getting cut off, not finding a spot to get in etc. I’ll put it this way, I’m kinda tired of hearing “grow the sport” but that’s probably the cranky old man developing. tho1mas, Quillback and magicwormman 2 1
Quillback Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 I positively hate the phrase "grow the sport". fishinwrench, vernon, mixermarkb and 3 others 4 2
