magicwormman Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Saw about 20 boats practicing between Kimberling City and Baxter yesterday. I talked to a few and ALL were very friendly! Most said they were struggling to catch quality fish. Good luck to all of them! This morning only 2 boats headed up the James. I still think the Baxter are will produce the best. snagged in outlet 3, crazy4fishin, Quillback and 2 others 5
Seth Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Looks like TRL is producing everywhere today. It's a straight up wack fest! magicwormman, snagged in outlet 3 and big c 3
evilcatfish Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Only 1 fish over 5# so far, I figured there might be more, but I guess this is a quantity game anyway. Definitely enjoying the bit that I can watch
snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 They flat whacked em!!! Vinson was flipping a whacky worm shallow and had over 80 pounds.
Members sjcorpst Posted May 17, 2019 Members Posted May 17, 2019 And that folks is how good these MLF guys are. Show up at a lake and catch 50 plus fish in a 6 hour period. Don't you wish your vacation trips were like that!!!!! magicwormman, big c, evilcatfish and 2 others 5

From what I saw the top guys were flipping the flooded bushes/wood with either a jig or a shakyhead worm for the most part. Some were picking some up on a jerkbait on the outside of those bushes. Wiggins caught most of his quality fish up shallow on a Plopper. magicwormman, big c, snagged in outlet 3 and 1 other 4
STLbassbuster Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Tharp was catching some good ones on a jig and lost one he estimates in the six range. snagged in outlet 3, magicwormman and abkeenan 3
STLbassbuster Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Vinsons average was a fish every 8 minutes. Impressive. Look at the cut weight at 20th place as well. magicwormman, big c and snagged in outlet 3 3

Well I sure picked up some ideas from watching today, only watched about an hour total, but learned a few things. MGP, magicwormman, snagged in outlet 3 and 2 others 5
