But can't buy a bite this weekend any tips tricks would be appreciated. Also I may need things put into perspective I'm not a bass fisherman generally I usuy target crappie and white bass at other waters is bass fishing in general slower even in the best of times?

Finding active feeding schools on shad will get you more bites. Electronics  are very handy in finding this.  Pick a section of the lake and start scanning while watching for streaks and clouds. Drop shot or a spoon ,swimbait ,grub ect. fished at the depths you mark them at. Also have a topwater ready to fire into surfacing fish.   imo that's the most consistent pattern on these big reservoirs.

Also, I still think there are fish in front of the bushes.  Ned rig, wacky rig, or neko a stick bait on bushes in main lake points and front 1/3 of the pockets/creek arms.  Not sure you can catch giants that way but you will catch fish.  Try a few banks that look a little different (Different slopes/chunk rock vs. gravel etc) and figure out what works.  Should be able to get on some fish that way...

Exactly.

I'd rather go toe to toe on a short string Vs deep fishing  any day(except a holiday wknd) if it's  an option!  Largemouth love flooded cover

Even right now my boat is never under 25'  Guides caught them great this morning, most in 15 to 20 feet on a jig and a swimbait.  To fish that depth your boat has to be 25 to 30 ft. and that puts the fish 1/2 way back.  Most are on gravel and long runnouts.  They were also chasing on the same locations.

There are also starting to  be some bottom drop shot fish, but most are relating to timber.  Again look in the same depth range or go out off the bluffends and find timber with the tops in the 20 to 30 ft. range and use your electronics to see if the wood is holding fish.

If your trying to repeat the MLF patterns good luck with that.
