Before you buy Ryan I can send you one of my pairs to try out if our sizes mesh. My first pair I sent it to be rebuilt and refurbished. Came back like new, Mrs BilletHeads did too. Fraction of the cost. Not sure other wader companies do that.

I got a great deal on the Simms freestones... They are not the goretex made in MT ones, but so far they are holding up better than my previous 4 or 5 pairs of white river ones...

They have a warranty and will be replaced for a small fee when they finally do leak.  One day I'll get a wild hair up my butt and drop $700 on a pair of the G4's with the zip up front... Maybe after my 3rd set of braces for the last kiddo lol

The free stones aren't bad for what they are... Just not made in the USA.

Not saying you have to be Mr. Orvis, but they are the best waders I have ever wore.  I have a pair, my first pair of Goretex, Orvis Silver Labels that I bought in 2000.  They still shed water after streams, boats, brush, and ducks.  They were my only pair until 07.  But I still wear them floating in a kayak.  They let a little moisture thru now.  I think the neoprene boots will fail before the goretex part.  My daughter and wife wear them fishing when they need them still.

I blew thru a pair of Drake Goretex ones in a year, they replaced them with a heavy duty Neoprene.  Orvis came out with a pair of Goretex a year later and I bought them.  Still going strong.

You get what you pay for.  Quality comes with a price.

I like my LL Bean breathable waders. They’ve proven to be very durable and Bean backs their products as well as anybody. 

The Bean label doesn’t carry the cachet some in the fly fishing bidness do though. They try to slide by on quality, value and standing behind their product.

I agree you get what you pay for.  Love my Silver Sonics but I don’t believe they are still in production.  Equally important are wading boots....for all out comfort I normally wear Soft Science Terrafins but switch to a lug soled boot if I am going to be scaling steep or muddy banks.

I have really bad swelling in my legs, ankles and feet.  I wear prescription elastic stockings.   Does any company make them larger in the lower areas?   I don't fit into the neoprene waders,  and my neoprene stocking foot waders are very tight and stretched.   Any tips are appreciated.

Better to wait until they are gone.  Braces are chump change relative to when they spit those out.

I need new duck hunting waders too. Drake is trash from what I hear. Not surprised. I am hearing the Simms Tributaries are a solid deal.

Most goretex waders are generously cut above the ankles.  The neoprene booties are to fit a boot.  Everything above wears like pants.

My Drake Neoprenes have done well.  They are nice and comfy when I am sitting on a ice shelf after busting out a hole in some timber on a teen night.  I don't really worry about being rough on them.

My Orvis Goretex ones, I still watch out for beaver sticks and briars.
