Man I couldn’t agree more. I really wish they were putting these in the Springs and rivers where suitable.

I caught so many eventually I had a crowd of the Lou’s finest watching and wanting the trout and getting more and more pissed which each release. There were no signs there explaining the MDC rules for this oil Trout bonanza

Seems to me that MDC should designate some C&R sections on their trout parks and put those pellet pigs in there.

Bssp has the perfect water for a c and r but it falls on deaf ears. The rock hole to the dam apron is ideal water . But what the heck do I know.

Man I just think these fish should be in rivers. I would really enjoy fishing c n r areas because I don’t keep fish. Watching everyone with flailing trout on their lines bouncing around on the ground only to kick them back in the pond is disgusting to me.

catching trout that big from there was a complete joke but, I had to do it but, I would pay more in taxes to have them stocked in the parks with Catch and release zone permanent..... increase my taxes for that

That's what I've been trying to tell y'all....It used to be like that at Bennett, the Niangua, and on the Meramec, before they got all smart and got brand new high tech equipment.   No tax increase was required either.  

One of the main hatchery guys then was a high school dropout who chain-smoked, drank like a fish, and was even better at raising coon hounds.  It's a slap in the face that today with all their studying and awesome equipment.... they can't equal what that ol'boy could do.

Sounds like this isn't a normal stocking practice?  Like the MDC doesn't normally put their old brood stock into the city ponds?

I think its fun that they did this as a one-time thing.  I'm sure those city pond guys get bored catching the usual-size stockers year after year.

I agree it would be great to have these big trout in the streams, is that where they go most years?

They sure as heck don't  at bssp. Unless of course it happens to be out of state free fishing weekend.

One time years ago I caught a Rainbow that weighed Six and Half pounds out of the river.

Took it to Weavers and weighed it. It was during the Winter.

Dang, those are so big they're almost gross.  I cannot imagine why anyone would want to eat a trout, much less a giant mutant one.  As of last week they had not put any in at forest park.  Ill probably head up today at lunch with a jerkbait and a plopper looking for a bass.  Hopefully the banks aren't lined up with fishermen.  Its usually not too bad there until the catch and keep season starts.
