Members GENTLE Posted November 14, 2019 Members Posted November 14, 2019 Is there anything that we can do about the way the corps manages our water levels? Bull is nearing 11ft high and rising( 16 ft if you go by old normal pool level) and Beaver is 1.5ft from top of flood pool, after just being there last weekend!! And now their slowing down releases at both Bull and Beaver, meanwhile Table Rock is less than 2ft high and their is no signs their gonna slow down on releasing water. Every summer for the past several years Beaver and Bull are flooded all summer while Table Rock pretty much remains at normal level. Lance34 and terryj1024 2

Phil posted this a while back to try and help understand the corp. mojorig 1
Members GENTLE Posted November 14, 2019 Author Members Posted November 14, 2019 I'm saying BS, more like Johnny don't want the Corps letting Table Rock get too high. This is a fairly recent development, I dont remember our lakes at or near flood pool all the darn time in years past. Someone somewhere pocketing lots $$$ Smalliebigs 1
Devan S. Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 I realize your venting but it seems like the TRL guys are complaining all the time too about high water. Cracks me up. I wish they would just get rid of the dams and show everyone what real flooding looks like. Ozark Flyer, fishinwrench, Daryk Campbell Sr and 1 other 1 1 2

Real floods, as in uncontrolled releases of large volumes of water, kill people, livestock/produce, tear up infrastructure, impede commerce, and destroy personal property. Ask people along the Missouri/Mississippi how they feel about real floods going away. Most of them will tell you the same thing it seems like its always high water and for most of them this year it has been high water just as long or longer than any of the white river lakes. High lakes for most just cause a slight inconvenience and generally only to recreation uses. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
tjm Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 They didn't have to build all that crap in the flood zone, hard to feel sympathy for stupid. Every flood plain is surrounded by hills, people should live on hills. The Army just builds those dams so that they have a job, eh? fishinwrench 1

I agree.....I also feel the same way for the people constantly complaining about the high water on the lakes. Specifically when for 99.9% of those people its only an inconvenience to recreation. tjm 1
top_dollar Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 Step 1. Call the corps and ask them to lower the lake to your desired level. Step 2. In the event step 1 fails, adjust your fishing technique until you learn what will work under the "new" conditions. tjm 1
Old plug Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 Your fish are more than likely shallow up in the flooded areas Champ188 1
