Never seen one of these in Lake Springfield

Took the little boy to the nature center and we were on the boardwalk and saw this little guy, i assume it is a Chain Pickerel????  Looked like a baby Musky.   I spent a lot of time on that lake over the years and have never seen one.    The pic isnt the best i had to put my phone lens up to my polarized glasses or you couldnt see anything at all. It was about 10"-12"

Definitely not a gar, I wish i could have got a better pic. The thing was only a couple feet from the boardwalk

That ain't a gar. The snoot looks musky/pike ish.

Hard to tell with the reflectuin.  If the head is on the left I still say it looks like a gar, if the head is on the right then it's some sort of alien fish.  Honestly it looks like pectoral fins and head on left, but I wouldn't put any money on it.

Ive been on the lake enough I definitely know a what a gar looks like and this is far from it. Used to shoot them all the time with a bow.  I may be dumb but not that dumb

I think I was looking at him backwards. No telling. They have found just about everything that swims in that lake plus some gators.
