mixermarkb Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Easy there Skeeter- I don't hate all pontoons, and most pontoons with trolling motors know better than to cut between me and the bank while I'm out there fishing a main lake point. dtrs5kprs 1

You never know if they are gonna obey the rules of the road or cut right across you and over a point in inches of water! God forbid there be more than one of them headed in your general direction!! I can't tell you how many times I've just had to drop off plane in confusion... Funny! That's exactly what I do. They're so unpredictable I'll sometimes just stop until they give me a clue on which way they're gonna go. The worst is when they cut right across the main boating lane with kiddos on a tube. 🤨 dtrs5kprs 1

The guy never notices and makes it all the way into the no wake are while I'm frantically waving and pointing. He finally looks around to see the kid gone and pulls it around. He gets out to the kid then instead of coming back to the marina he heads back under the bridge north. I guess he was too embarrassed to come in. Patlock 1

Exactly, I see vehicles from all over the US visiting Bull Shoals, Theodosia. Where I'd guess 2/3 of the population or more is high risk for covid 19. Seniors. People visiting the lake right now for vacation are just dumb imo,go home 😡 . I don't know where you stopped on your 800+ Mile road trip before you got here and then went to Cash Saver, Bullseye, Do It Best, Dollar General , liquor store ect. Just dumb, and you don't care. We have been very fortunate so far, no corona cases. Likely someone out of town will bring it here, someone like yourself. Especially if you live in a hot spot area. You infect just a few people in a town with a population less than 250 , where everyone who lives there goes to the same places, well ,just think about the consequences. You want to come here and just fish and not be around other people ,no prob. The rest of you who visit every dang store in town when you get here, smh.😷

Aren't they suppose to have an observer to watch the skier of what ever they are towing so the driver can watch where he is going. You know there's another thing about these people pulling skiers and the use of the red flag. At least 50% out of the 100% that knows you got to have a red flag when they are pulling someone but I'll be darn they don't when to use it. They just fly it all of the time whether they have a person down in the water or not. They just know that they have to have a flag. Again where are the water patrol officers???? That's why I am in favor of a boat operators license and must be 16 years to take the written and a practical test to qualify to drive a boat.. The one thing that can prove to be fatal and that is the practice of steering left when meeting a boat head-on. Now on the lake I've been meeting boats and I'd turn left and the other boat steers to the right what a mess it is I have just stopped at times until I can see which way the other boat is going to go..... Very frustrating to me when that happens. Maybe we need floating center lines on the lake.... 😉 mixermarkb and Patlock 2

Unfortunately that's what your going to see most likely. Cases in rural America have been low and understandably so. I would think from LOZ up north, which was an absolute zoo this weekend, down to the Arkansas border your going to see cases increase. I could see some smaller towns getting wiped out before this is over, its just the nature of the beast. This vaccine in development in Oxford England is showing promise, cross your fingers.

There have been only 3 cases in Stone to-date. I pray it does not go up when the tourist arrive but I won't be surprise. Bobby
fishinwrench Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 The positive test rate has doubled in our county over the last 6 days. Went from 2 to 4. 🙄 If it goes from 4 to 16 in the following week maybe people will wake up and go back to SD. Everyone has said "piss on it" and thrown care to the wind in this area. I guess we'll see.

willyfish Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 I just watched 60 minutes and the last story covered this same topic about rural areas. There might only be 3 cases in Stone County https://www.ky3.com/content/news/coronavirus-missouri-arkansas.html but how many are asymptomatic. It boils down to keeping your head above water till there is a vaccine available, sucks but its reality.
