netboy Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 Definitely starting to see less bugs hatching but still decent fishing. Numbers were lower but still some good ones coming up looking for the caddis. snagged in outlet 3, Huntingducks117, laker67 and 5 others 8
Ham Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 The trout are Super Healthy right now. Johnsfolly and JestersHK 2 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
JestersHK Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 Slabs... should be some really fat stockers with the reduced pressure. Fish normally caught and taken out will get a bit more mature. Johnsfolly 1
Ham Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 The New Regs have helped, but I shouldn’t discount the reduced fishing pressure. really good year for bug hatches ; How much more fun will the White be if it starts having reliably heavy Caddis and Mayfly hatches to go along with the Hopper hatch JestersHK and Johnsfolly 2 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. Members Cameron Gillespie Posted May 10, 2020 Members Posted May 10, 2020 Looked like a huge caddis hatch in the state park yesterday evening. JestersHK 1
Members Huntingducks117 Posted May 12, 2020 Members Posted May 12, 2020 Saturday was a virtual blizzard of caddis, they only had 2 units running and it was only partly cloudy, so I think that made a huge difference in the hatch. Caught about 40 on dry flies fro 2-6pm. It was crazy the amount of activity out there. I think it just depends on water level, temps, and sunshine. The caddis are still going strong. That's a great looking brown trout! Huntingducks117 and JestersHK 2
netboy Posted May 12, 2020 Author Posted May 12, 2020 I went out today around noon and was surprised at how good the caddis were coming up in the light rain we had. Fish were popping everywhere I looked. Caught a bunch of rainbows and 1 brown. Nothing huge but still lots of fun watching them come up. Huntingducks117, Quillback, BilletHead and 2 others 5
