I have just been able to start fishing again about 3 years ago.  25 1/2 inches is the best that I have done on Stockton Lake.  I caught a 7 lb walleye on a Shad Rap in the 1980's where I grew up and river fishing.  My dad caught a couple of 10 lbers and my brother caught a 9 lber. My grandfather caught the biggest on a minnow - a 14 lb walleye in the late 70's.  The mount is still at my parents.

My largest on Stockton is 27 inches.  The Mrs.  Largest on Stockton is 25.5 inches. My largest ever is 29.5 below the dam at Tom Steed reservoir. In 1987 when I was in the army.

I had a really nice one on today, Rebel Deep Wee R. Got it to the boat, in my mind I believe it was 30 inches. Anyway I had no net and was trying to get her by the gill when she flipped and stuck the bait well into my thumb. she then proceeded to straighten the hook she was on and pull free. Hurt like hell. Drove the boat back home about 2 miles with the bait still in my thumb. Got the wife and got it pulled out, got the bait and replaced the hook and went back. Somebody else was sitting on my spot fishing with shad. I'm willing to bet it was someone who was watching me fight that fish. Anyway, all I got is a sore thumb.

Caught several 27-28” Walters in Canada. Tossed em back, to big for shore lunch. By catch mostly, would rather catch Smallmouth or Big Pike. Pike taste better, believe it or don’t.

Not a very good walleye fisherman, did cat a 7.5 lber in Truman by the island at mouth of Osage River on a swim bait.

Pike is tasty, but a pain to clean and eat.
