ness Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Just got off the phone with a friend of mine. She's a talented photographer and went down to the Plaza in KC to observe the protests and take some pictures. Her plan was to get to a building top or parking garage for a good vantage point. Those were blocked off so she decided to cautiously walk along the edge with them and take pictures. According to her, the overwhelming majority of the crowd were peaceful, but there were a handful of real instigators in there trying to rile the rest up. She got yelled at by few people for taking photos/video -- they said the cops can use the photos to come after them. She said she was a little shook up by the confrontations and started to rethink her plans. Before she got out of there the cops ended up tear gassing the crowd and she got it too. Later she talked to a cop and she said sure they'd like to take a look at her pictures and video John

tjm Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 I don't think the average protester has ever known or cared about the exact reasons of the protest, largely they are part of the herd. Instinctual involvement. Having seen cops defend bad cops in situations like this, it is a wonderment that that those cops were arrested at all. Typically they should have been fired in keeping with PR and immediately hired by a neighboring PD. Wanna bet the instigators are being paid?
Deadstream Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Sure. On the being paid side. I've seen the large vans dropping off people, handed signs and smoke bombs and sent to rallys all the way back to the Bob Dole for president days. I used a valve stem remover and let a" little air" out of the two vans tires, looked up at the building next to me and a dude with a long gun was watching with a smile on his face. This was in Independence,Mo. way back
