dave potts Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 I used to have a jon boat that I kept in a slip at a clay pit lake. One day I decided if one of those would clean the dried pond scum off of it. Took it right off. Had to use several pads but they worked beautifully. Been using it on cork rod handles for years. Wonder how they would do on dirty fly lines? Anybody ever try them?
Bushbeater Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 Been trying to find a way to get the scum and scale off my white boat for the last couple weeks, even tried diluted Muratic acid. Today I used toilet bowl cleaner with a Magic Eraser and it cleaned right up. One more side to go and it's ready for wax. Daryk Campbell Sr 1

tjm Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 Fly lines get dawn and warm water and dry paper towels, then do it again. They don't seem to get dirty so bad if I don't put conditioners on them, but done my way they only last about 17 years.

My RIO warmwater lines though....3-4 years max. I don't bother with soap anymore, just hot steamy tap water and a dish towel.

I’m down at Taney so I’ll try the new MPX this week
