That's a tough thing to do.  Mythbusters tried to do it with wood arrows and couldn't get a "Robin Hood" type of split like you see in the movies due to how the grain of the wood ran down the shaft of the arrow.  Newer hollow shaft aluminum and composite arrows they were able to do like you did, but it took them a mounted, remote release bow to do it.

Yep. Sophi used to knock vanes and nocks off all the time. She thought it was cool. She wasn't the one that had to maintain her equipment.

Same here. Archery is my thang. Do it a few times a year, and all i see if $$$$ down the drain.
