Would lookup Mangrove Outfitters in Naples, FL if you want to knock a few salt fish off your list. Snook and Jack Crevalle for sure, and a blast on a fly rod. Tarpon and reds are a bit harder to come by. Might land 1 tarpon in 4-5 hookups on a fly rod. A 15-40lb tarpon perfect, bigger is friggin chore!

Several snapper species in area. Captain Tom Shadley, Capt Bill, Capt Stark. Good guys. You will be fishing inshore on bay boats/flats skiffs off a platform off the front deck while they pole. $60O for a half day w tip.

A 39 inch minnow. Just missed the 40 inch mark. We landed five that day with two over 40 "

The second of the 40 has been caught ! 

On Monday, I hit a Local creek after dark looking for a Mad Tom. 
I had tried previously and seen fish, but had not been able to get bites. 

this time I used a jig to help me track my bait. I was able to get my tiny worm and hook closer to the fish I could see. 
Bingo! I got multiple Bites and got my Lifer Slender Mad Tom!

I was Super excited when I got my Slender Mad Tom Monday night. I still needed a Yellow Bullhead though so back to the creek I went Tuesday night.

i was using two rods. One with a size 6 and one with a size 4. Looking for Bullhead and American Eel. 

Almost immediately, I started getting bites. Me being an artificial lure guy makes it tough for me to be patient with natural baits. 
I waited as long as I could stand it and set the hook. No fight but I could tell I had something on the line. 

that something turned out to be the third of the 40. A Checkered Mad Tom !!!!
