Had not been down since March and at that time I think the no wake buoy in front of Trout Hollow was gone. Now there is a red anchor type buoy. Is there a snag in the channel there now or is that their attempt to slow people down without putting out a no wake buoy? Searched the forums and didn't find anything. Curiosity bug has bit me.

Not sure.... I have not talked to Linell.  But I know they have a problem keeping boats away from their dock... and they can't seem to keep buoys anchored there in front of the resort.

I talked to Lionel a couple weeks ago, it's their attempt to slow people down... But it doesn't work too well. My boat gets the snot beat out of it on their dock. It's a pretty narrow stretch and people will go by there on plane or throwing a wake at literally less than 10 or 20 yards sometimes, it's nuts!

It is nuts the way too many people drive on Taneycomo these days. I guess like in too many other parts of society these days, courtesy and safety are out the window because everyone is in such a hurry. Not sure what the answer is or if there even is one. I have said this before, but a lot of these people weren't fortunate like me to have boating sense instilled by older generations of fishing and hunting mentors who taught the right way to do things.

I think Taneycomo could use a speed and/or horsepower limit. I know a smaller boat and motor that is plowing can throw large wakes, but getting the speeds down will help overall. Hey 21 foot yellow wrapped Nitro, looking at you kid.

I’m never on Taney when the weather is nice. It’s always absolute crap weather when I fish there so boat traffic isn’t a huge issue for me.

I like to stay on plane in my tracker and go by people, I know I'm being safe and doing them an actual favor but I get flipped the bird and yelled at by people on rental boats sometimes because they simply don't realize it's creating a ton less wake for them than the folks that plow by them. I've only got a 60 hp so it's not like i'm acting like a nut job. I actually try to wave people on quite a bit when they are coming by me,   I just want them to stay on plane and come on by.  Another thing no one mentions.......when boats come by and throw a wake, I get bites ALOT, especially with jig and float and even fishing off the docks.  I always thought it stirred up the bottom or adds some movement to the bait and makes them bite.
