What is this algae junk I keep having to pull off my fly when I fish the lower Meramec River?

76) Walleye: kinda late to the party. I usually catch a few while bass fishing Norfork/Bull Shoals in the Spring, but I did not do enough of that this year.

this was one of my targeted species yesterday.

much smaller and skinnier that I would have chosen, but that's the first of the year. Now, I need one on fly

77) Skipjack Shad : so this fish was caught right after the Sauger and Walleye, but much higher in the water column.
Super  Happy to get this one without having to make a separate run especially for them. I ended up catching 5 of them including one on fly. Literally, I could have dozens of I had devoted the day to that.

78) Hybrid Striped Bass aka pulling machine

we were fishing a big back Eddy that had quite a few Large active Gar. I tried my rope fly, Nope. I threw that Firetiger DT10 again. I made love contact a couple of times, but no hookup. I put on a large jointed wake bait hoping for a Gar and outta of the cloudy sky this miracle fish shows up and eats.

I have to get on board with some skipjack. Can't let @Ham and @FishnDave have all the fun. Found some INat spots for these guys on the Ohio river about 5 to 6 hours from us. They were caught in Oct. So a fall trip will likely be in order. Also that would be when I would try for sauger again in those same areas, i.e., below locks on Monongahela and Ohio rivers in WV.

JF #99 Lifer Striped Killifish, Fundulus majalis. Been trying to find some of these guys for a couple of years and lucked into this male 😁. Livie spotted it and let the old man take the Tanago. Looked and never saw another one.
