I bought my oldest a package of bubblegum ribbontail BPS worms figuring that I would never use them and they would just be hers. Fishing that lake I have bought "her" many packs of bubblegum worms ! I used to have access to a sweet little bass lake that the fish only ate electric blue culprit worms. It was the craziest thing ever. The place was loaded with bass and I would want to catch them a spinner bait or top water but no joy. FishnDave and Johnsfolly 2
FishnDave Posted March 2, 2021 Author Posted March 2, 2021 Topwaters are great fun! One could start a new life-list of fish they've caught on topwater! That would be interesting. Just freshwater fish here: Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Kentucky Spotted Bass, White Bass, Hybrid Striped Bass, Northern Pike, Muskellunge, Walleye (!!), Channel Catfish, Bluegill, Pumpkinseed Sunfish, Longear Sunfish, Rock Bass, Green Sunfish, Hybrid Sunfish, Crappies, Grass Carp, Creek Chub, Hornyhead Chub, Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout.... that's all I can remember at the moment. Even this Rainbow hit an aggressively-worked Blockhead Popper (and check out those perfect fins!). Quillback, snagged in outlet 3 and Johnsfolly 3
Johnsfolly Posted March 2, 2021 Posted March 2, 2021 These are just photos that I know for certain that I caught these bass all on the same Excalibur spitn image WTD bait. There were plenty others, e.g., largemouth bass, green sunfish, etc., but I just am not sure which photos are with that bait. Johnsfolly Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 Some old photos that I recently got into a digital format. Jupiter FL - Lived there for 6 years. Lost our fishing boat option when their daughter had a falling out with my wife 😒. Gag grouper and a couple of false albacore (bonitos). Still my largest fish ever - wahoo on a live greenie. Johnsfolly Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Another old photo that I just got into a digital format. This is a mutton snapper and a white margate that I caught out near the Dry Tortugas, Key West in 1985. Here's a closeup of the margate. My notes from that trip is that it was over 18 lbs. I looked today and the Florida state record for this species is 19.5 lbs set in 2011. Maybe this was a state record at that time. We will never know 😒 BilletHead, FishnDave and Quillback 3
