laker67 Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 Saw this on our walk with the grandson yesterday. I don't ever recall seeing an eagle atop a utility pole. Johnsfolly, snagged in outlet 3, nomolites and 3 others 6
Dutch Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 Don’t believe I have either. There were 4 in one cove at Stockton today. They are magnificent birds. laker67 1

Pretty neat Rick. I had a few squirrel carcasses to dispose of this morning. Took them 50 yards from the house and dumped them in the edge of a beanfield. Didn't take long and a young one still in full dark feathers found it. Then an adult. Young one took a carcass and flew off the other one tried to take it away. Nice to watch out the window. laker67 Posted February 3, 2021 Author Posted February 3, 2021 There was a Cooper's Hawk sitting on the wire about 30 foot from this eagle. Don't know which one came first, but I do know that the hawk was eyeballing that eagle. He was probably thinking that he could be the next meal. Johnsfolly and FishnDave 1 1
snagged in outlet 3 Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 One of the coolest things is going to that bird sanctuary down south. I was there my daughter for scouts. We got up close and personal with owls, hawks and eagles. Crazy how big they really are. https://www.worldbirdsanctuary.org/ FishnDave, Johnsfolly and laker67 3

There is a small raptor collection at Reelfoot Lake sponsered by TWRA. fishinwrench Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 Right where Gravois creek dumps into Lake O there's a nest the size of my living room. Not a single bird in it last spring, and nobody home this last Fall. It will be interesting to see if it is occupied this Spring. Before last Spring there were always at least 2, and often 4+ hanging around it. The nest has been there for 12-15 years. laker67 1
