I will also agree with you boys on the St Croix products. I use the mojo bass spin setup for light lure presentations. I use the EyeCon for walleye fishing and really like it. I used to use it for Ned fishing, on Dave's advice, but got a nice setup for that for Christmas. But its a good Ned setup. Use a heavy duty Triumph for hybrids. I would love to get an Avid. My buddy has one and he swears by it. You cant go wrong with a St Croix product. And i agree their customer service is good too.

I have both premiers and Avids.  For me the extra sensitivity on the Avids is noticeable but then again I'm fishing mostly by rod tip, at night,  in the darkness.  Im glad you're happy with it buddy.

St. Croix is a great company though.  I've broken 3 so far and they've taken care of me every time.  Last one that really hurt  was I broke 4in off  the tip of my Avid jerk bait rod.   Sent them a picture and service request, they said $50 and they'll send me a replacement, and I got to keep my old one as well.  Slapped a new eye on that sucker and it still fishes great, just a tad less sensitive.

I used to be a big St.Croix fan until I sent in a broken $400.00 dollar flyrod and they wanted to replace it with a $200.00 model. Their service rep tried to tell me that the  $200 model was a comparable rod. I told the guy he was full of you know what. Cheap hardware on the cheaper  model  ,slower blank ,cheap grade of cork etc. I told the guy I would get all my receipts for 20 rods together and they can give me my money back or you can sell me a more expensive rod and I will pay the difference between the 2 retail prices and you pay the shipping for my inconvenience .I ended up paying the difference and have not bought any more of their products since.

I'd say that St.Croix is on their way out.   I just checked their website and nearly every rod they offer is "SOLD OUT".  

They took a crap on flyfishermen several years ago.   Bummed me out because the Legend Ultra and Legend Elite series were my absolute favorite rods for many years.

I had a warranty issue about a month ago on a rod that was sold out.   The guy said they get weekly shipments and every one of them is sold or shipped to retailers.  He said their business is booming.

They used to put out these ads that were somewhat comical.  But the message was that "OTHER ROD COMPANY'S will bull$#!t you and pass off an inferior product....but ST CROIX never will.   We are here for YOU". 

And then they take a dump right in your waist pack. 🥴

I'm sure they're going down the tubes about changing some fanny pack wearing hillbilly's "favorite rod" that he continually casts with a tailing loop and hits himself in the back of the head with....😁  Waist pack??!!   Just say it.  You have a fanny pack....😂

It ain't a "fanny pack" if I wear it on the side. 🖕  Hip pack maybe.

That's the way I understood it.    When the boy becomes a man, they take the diaper off his butt and wrap it around his head.
