Im glad everyone doesnt have that mentality or our fisheries would be screwed. I guess all us catch and release guys make up for the 5 gallon bucket fisherman.

You CPR guys kill a lot more fish than you think.  You just don't see it happen.

I was brought up that way as well, but something changed over the years for me. Mainly I just don't really like the taste of fish. Has to do with getting deathly sick after eating some one time. Not only one time, but twice! That and cleaning them is just a pain the butt.  I should point out however that if I catch a Walleye that one is hitting the grease! That is one good eating fish to me and it doesn't bring back those funky memories and smells when eating it. JMO

x2. I love a good mess of crappie, catfish, bluegill, (insert panfish name) but only every once in a while. I also agree -  it's a royal pain in the butt to clean them some days. It might be lazy, but cleaning a fish is one part of that particular game that I never look forward to. So - catch and keep most of the time, but toss 'em back more often than not!

There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind. ~Washington Irving

I keep plenty of fish, but there a lot of days I just don't want to clean any so back they go.  I am gonna take my wife tonight, if she catches enough for a meal they are gonna come home with us.  Otherwise depends on my mood, or whether or not someone at church has asked for a few crappie fillets.  Heck sometime when I leave I am planning on bring some home and end up just tossing thwm back as I catch them so sometimes I don't even know what I am gonna do.

I hate to clean fish.  Luckily I have a friend who will clean them on the halves.  So when I save whites he gets half of them and I get cleaned frozen fillets.

What is it with CHURCH PEOPLE that they always need fish, but can't ever catch any themselves ?

I hear that from my customers all the time....forever giving fish to someone from their church.  🤔

I bet it's because they'd rather clean, package, and deliver a mess of fish for them, than to spend a day on the water with them, hu?

That "fellowship" BS only goes so far!  😅
