Always wondered what they do with all the fish they shoot.

I saw a couple pics of 2 ton dumpsters that were filled after one of these deals. I believe they turn the fish into fertilizer and some might go to pig farms.

Around here alot of them end up alongside gravel roads.  The buzzards, stray farm cats, and possums get good and fat for awhile.  👍

If i were them i would hit Beaver Creek on Bull, We used to bow fish a lot around there when it was up.  Honestly cant remember the last time i saw a carp on Table Rock. I know there are plenty but i never see them

I've noticed a lot fewer carp at the marinas where they are fed by tourists, since the bow fishing tournaments started.  I also don't see spawning carp wallowing the banks as they did several years ago.

I navigate amongst them, and don't have a problem with it at all.   Maybe your eyes just aren't up to the night fishing task anymore.   🤔

How is it any different than passing cars on the highway with these new-aged LED headlights ?

driving on land is much different than on water.  on land, there are things that illuminate, such as the road, ditches, lines on the road, and you both have lights that are lighting things up for each.  water just absorbs light.  so, when you are getting hit in the eyes with those lights, you only see that light with no sense of anything else that might be there.  that is why some folks a long time ago, smarter than you and i, wrote the rules of night time navigation.  by the way, my vision is 20-15, and my night vision is way better than anybody that i have been around.  bright lights on the road do not bother me at all.  there are still things being lit up to keep it between the lines.

Those high power floods are illegal when a boat is under power be it slow or fast, it’s a coast guard rule....I know a couple states back east enforcement it tight this year....

big carp don’t get big by being stupid....they don’t run as shallow as they used too....and the biggest fish are more likely to get caught at noon as midnight....

as far as the PR battle...a hobby that makes you dispose of 300# of dead fish after a long night fishing gets old quick....leaving floaters and piles at the ramps don’t help ether.....at one time a few spots around here produce fish consistently in the 30s...

the people who win with probable hit some private golf corse ponds with huge grass carp....prob some big gar around.....last time I put much effort into this sort of thing over 50% were buff and gar.....alligator gar once swam the white river....couple places in Oklahoma I know has them..

I hope no one gets hurt, overloaded boats, floodwater don’t mix

Might be able to shoot out of tree stands if the water gets up high enough.

They've got some out of bounds areas around some of the big docks and even a few coves, tourist fed carp are probably safe.

I think Johnny’s son is a big bow fisher.  They run guide trips out of big cedar from bow fishing trips.

Yep big time.

Lots of custom built bow fishing rigs out there running $50k+. Those guys that are to top dogs wouldn't think about running tracker garbage. That's for the do it once or twice a year red necks. They sound a whole lot like the elite Ranger guys day from years ago.
