Well, other than two dandy walleye it was pretty dead. A 19" andaplump 18". Had another 17-18 rainbow shake the shadow rap off at the last minute and im pretty sure i lost one more walleye on the jig..on a side note i needed a makeshift stringer so looks like ill need a new Lilley's keychain..

Good eats there.  You'd think there could be some really big walleye living in Taney chowing down on stocker rainbows.

Lilleys posted one a couple weeks ago that I think around 7 pounds and they said when they cleaned it that it had a 10 inch rainbow in it's mouth.  And I think they said it was caught across from the resort.  There may end up being some big ones up and down the lake as they disperse some I would think. Same with smallies.

Walleye are taking over the White River Chain of Lakes.... well may be not Beaver Lake.  But Table Rock has exploded with them and Bull Shoals has always been good - but it is awesome right now below Powersite.  Then there's Taneycomo.  I don't think you can get on a good walleye pattern except in the corners at the cable but they're sure showing up more and more on the lake.

In the past, I don't think there's been much call for an exclusive walleye trip on the Rock but I know of a lot of guides right now only targeting walleye and getting limits almost every trip.

Beaver has been decent for walleye, just checked my notes, I made 5 trips to the Indian Creek area between May 1 and June 15.  Caught 5 keeper sized walleye, had 2 days where I caught 2, and one day with one.  This was incidental to smallmouth fishing, I was throwing Keitechs which seem to be a good walleye bait, and it will pick up those perky smallmouth.

I'm here for it! I would say this explosion goes for more than just the white river...up on the creeks running into Stockton this Spring I caught almost as many walleye as white bass this year..unheard of...any guesses on what would cause 1 species to boom like that in a particular system??

I thought I had read a couple years back that Beaver was going to quit stocking Stripers and start stocking way more walleye instead and I guess that is my assumption is that they came thru the gates and that is why the boom on Trock but probably dead wrong.  Tablerock has been interesting this year, one guide friend caught Trout on Tablerock like 2 or 3 days in a row this spring and one day they caught like 8 or 10 on top water baits they were magnum rainbows and he said they were schooling on top eating shad.  I'll try to find a picture.  I know that there have always been a few on Tablerock but this was unprecedented.

I know for a fact that the walleye fishing on Bull is excellent. I’m wondering if it’s all a product of the high water the last several years.

This was last year. Picture isn't the best due to the conditions but it was 8.5 lbs. Caught on the fly rod. I've caught some real dandies out of Taney over the last three years. I remember Phil caught and released one on OC some time ago and it was huge. You fish at night, and it's almost a guarantee you'll hook into one if you're in the right spot.
