Bill Babler Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 I started out fishing at 6 years old from my parents resort on LOZ, where we had 3 guides working for us and progressed to the Rock and Taney with Bull Shoals thrown in Alaska fishing and guiding since 2000. I have seen some if the best in the world in KVD, Denny Brauer, and Gido Hibdon. I don't care about AOY'S or longevity, I have never seen a guy that can find and catch fish in any format, deep, shallow, clear or muddy water, structure fishing or just open water like Wheeler. From Texas to Canada and from Florida to California he is a guy your stupid not to choose in any tournament. If it's swimming, he knows where it lives and what it wants to eat. Dude is totally unreal. Dewayne French, crazy4fishin, Ham and 7 others 10 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Quillback Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 100 lbs, 31 fish, which is a little over a 3 lb. average. Finale tomorrow.
willyfish Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Wheeler has been the best stick in the game for quite some time now. Bryan Thrift probably doesn't get enough credit for his game either. Mitch f 1
Quillback Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 I would not count out Ott DeFoe in this one either.
Members AAD Posted August 10, 2021 Members Posted August 10, 2021 On Monday's knockout round after catching either his first or second scorable, Wheeler whistled and said to the camera "we are gonna reel in some fish today boys". And he did exactly that. Amazing how he claimed it so early, then did just that. Impressive!
Mitch f Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 In my opinion, you just need to try something slightly different…either in how you work the bait, a different rigging technique, or a lure they haven’t seen for a while. Or possibly a different sound or scent. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor

Bill Babler Posted August 10, 2021 Author Posted August 10, 2021 Defoe drives me totally insane. He is going to need at least 30 lbs. in the final period. He will have a lot of thanks to give to get there I really doubt the Lord cares if he ever catches another one. Lvn2Fish and Champ188 2 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Members HardHead Posted August 10, 2021 Members Posted August 10, 2021 Wheeler has caught at least some of his fish today with a googans rattling Ned on a drop shot. Quite a feat in that wind. Can’t think of any fisherman better with the forward sonar.
