That's the only way. No historical records of yellers in the White above Batesville. Kinda like the perch in BS, except that I like perch...

My best guess is bait dumps from striper fishermen that catch their shad in the AR River. I might have even been guilty of that back in the 80s-90s. I know I occasionaly found 4-6" yellow bass in my shad hauls, but I discarded all I found asap, waste of oxygen/space.

I can't dance like I used to.

Couple of different reports this week, but both sound alike. Fishing gravel from point 8 on the White to  point 19 on the White and fishing gravel from point 9 to point 12 up the James these guys are hammering the Eye’s.

Only difference is depth. Both dudes using 1 oz. bottom bouncer crawler harnesses. One guy fishing 30’ plus the other under 20’. Both said that 20’ to 30’ range seems really slow to dead.   Not even many bass

The guy dragging under 20’ was catching a total load of 9” gills to go with the walleye.  Both reported 12 to 20 walleye a morning with about 1/2 being keepers.  Biggest was a 5 pounder caught at 32’.

Maybe I can try it by September 1st. Sure hope so.

Good Luck.

My son and I have been having good luck the last two weekends trolling bottom bouncers in that same range of 25-30 ft of depth we managed last weekend to catch a 20”a19” and 2 18in keepers

We use trolling bags to keep our speed down and keep the bouncers just ticking bottom

We both caught over a dozen a piece of Walleye just under the 18” limit and it was non stop bite in our lil spots

It’s encouraging to know there’s a healthy population of lil guys for the coming yearsC3CC36C5-5F9C-4454-8707-88D3D47D1589.jpegC3CC36C5-5F9C-4454-8707-88D3D47D1589.jpeg

When I was pulling my boat out at the BS Dam ramp on the White river around 11 am this morning a guy drove down and dumped a very nice limit of Walleye carcasses. He said he caught them trolling on the lower lake. They all looked to be around 20". Must be some good fishing up there. The crawfish found them pretty fast... And a very nice dinner for him.

Kind of looks like a place that Randy might have fished. 😃

Yep, I recognize the structure in the background.  Nice jag of fish.
