bluebasser86 Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 I've done it a bunch of times, mostly topwaters or traps it seems like. I got a couple on video. I've done this one a couple times too, not on the same bait but not a real common way to get 2 in the boat quick. SplitG2, Quillback, Champ188 and 1 other 4
196champ Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 This topic got me thinking, i know i have had quite a few doubles in the past few years but in review it was more that i had remembered. a few of my favorites were the white with the LM (5.02lb) and the smallie/spot on the spook, that smallie went 4.97lb. The rig gets lots of doubles, and it doesn't just get thrown in the winter......it is a pain to throw and can say that rod hasnt left the basement this year. Johnsfolly, m&m, Zulu and 3 others 6
Bill Babler Posted August 23, 2021 Author Posted August 23, 2021 Cool pics thanks. You all remember when the Front Runner was the deal. Lots of doubles on that and a spook. I'm showing my age there. I'll have to look and see if I still have any. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

196champ Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Any idea why that front runner fell off and isn't utilized more? Seems like a great idea, especially in a spotted bass fishery. I have noticed a few running a fluke off the rear, anyone try that trick?

I still have yet to catch a double on it but have caught fish with it. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Bill Babler Posted August 24, 2021 Author Posted August 24, 2021 I really think the wake baits kind of blew it up. At one time especially when the front runner was going strong all we had was temperamental Redfins. Now, there are a multitude of throw it out reel it in baits that catch the tar out of them that are super simple to use and you don't have to be able to walk the dog. White bass totally loved that front runner and if you had a multiple hooked bait plus the Runner, you had an emergency room visit in your near future. m&m and vernon 2 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
196champ Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Ahhhhh yes, that ER visit business makes total sense!
