My best 5 went over 47lbs

Well sometimes the stars align and a blind squirrel finds a nut. This morning was nuts that’s for sure. The 5 biggest of the mountain of mutts I caught went over 47lbs. Time to start fishing for Blacks lol. Sorry my pics are too big to post on this forum it seems so I’ll post 5 trough shots individually so you guys can scrutinize my weights and size claims lol

Fish 1 27 inches 10.4lbs

Fish 5 I didn’t have a pic of as it flipped off the board and back in the river. 25.5 inches 8.11lbs. Here is a pic of one of the many others lol

Where's the closest stocking point ?  

I'm curious where MDC would say those are coming from. 🤔

My buddy thinks they are coming down the Missouri then the Mississippi and up the Meramec via the dam breaks in Iowa or Nebraska??? Hahaha it’s really kinda wild and normally they aren’t all 26 inches and bigger on darn near every fish. I was lucky 🍀

Those are some tanks to be sure, very nice!  I use the same type pliers on them, keeps the hooks out of my palm while I remove my lure and makes them easier to manage.  They tend to be feisty.  Someone has to be adding them somewhere…They have no hesitation to run up a stream for food that’s for sure.  Love trout, but I bet fish that size don’t pass on much of anything tasty less than 10 inches.

Iowa stocks a bunch...into Big Creek Lake, Saylorville Lake and Red Rock Lake (on the Des Moines River...tributary to the Mississippi, dumps in near the Iowa/Missouri border).   And Lake MacBride and Coralville Reservoir on the Iowa River near Iowa City....The Iowa River dumps into the Cedar River and then the Mississippi River.

They also stock Lake Rathbun, which empties into the Chariton River, which runs down by Kirksville and eventually into the Missouri River.
