The Palmetto strain tends to swim upstream during these high-water events, and then return back to the lake when the flows subside. So...the Palmetto seem to stay in the system they were stocked in better, so Iowa is continuing with studies to compare/contrast the 2 HSB strains in Iowa waters. I know buddy it’s kinda hard to explain to the average fisherman how weird these things can be. Here one minute feeding like tigers then gone the next. It can be frustrating to say the least. When they are on though….. wow is it something. Pete I lost one at the bank that actually seemed to dwarf this 12lber hahahaha and honestly it looked to be a legit Striper to me…… I’m just gonna say this right now….. there are Stripers in the Meramec and Mississippi nomolites, timinmo, Johnsfolly and 1 other 4

All of them, in unison. That's the most irritating thing about temperate bass IMO. You can be right in the middle of them for hours and not get a single one to even chase a bait.....then all of a sudden, for some unknown reason....they just turn on and will eat anything that moves. I'm almost 100% convinced that they communicate telepathically, or something. I've ballooned enough of them to know. Smalliebigs 1

One of my closest friends is one also. Let me just level my statement by saying that Outboard/Marine mechanics are often full of misinformation too. 👍 FishnDave and 45acp 2
