Could be a big brown, rainbow, or smallmouth bass! Can't  wait to see what you might land in that stretch.

Caught some monster smallies down there this time of year ... Hope a brown has made residence along the bluff there

I'm interested to hear how it goes.   My daughter and I were going to hit that stretch yesterday but we got a late start so we just did some dry fly experimenting in the park.

No browns in the spring branch at all, so I suspect that they skipped the annual stocking of browns in the river as well.  Hope you prove me wrong. 👍

My last Niangua Brown.   Jan. 2020

Haven't caught one from the Niangua since. 🙄

In the past they would stock browns right around the opening day of Deer firearms season.   They didn't last year I don't think, and I haven't seen anything suggesting that they have this year either.

I looked all over the internet and called a guy and no one knows anything about it. They both said they are stocked annually in the fall usually . I bet there are some hiding in there. I'll just have yo sort through all the smallies 😁

The mdc says good prospects for 14 to 16 inch browns for 2022
