Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 16, 2021 Root Admin Posted December 16, 2021 Impressive.... you're saying they were released? Any tournament you'd think so.

Catch and release grows more fish that size, it was just a recommendation to everyone/anyone to practice it when bass fishing. I saw a guy release a 7+lb fish he caught during the Johnny Morris T practice at Bull. I have alot of respect for that angler because he chose to free the Fighter instead of eating it. Makes me sick when I see largemouth bass get their sides peeled.. Jerry Rapp 1

I could not see anyone eating a 7lb fish, it would be wormy snagged in outlet 3 1 everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted December 18, 2021 Posted December 18, 2021 While I agree with keeping the genes in the water, this type of statement can be misinformed. This fish is probably spawned out for its lifespan. The spawn is already growing, and taking him allows for his descendants to take his place. In a large watershed, he is no threat. But in a smaller one, he may be. While I am 99.999% catch and release, I do have to wonder if we are hurting ourselves by continuing to do so. Back when people took all they caught and used what they kept, there was almost always a bounty to be had. gotmuddy, Johnsfolly and bfishn 3 Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. Any thoughts on that or did all you see was my catch and release opinion 😄 My post was about the huge sac of bass not intended to start a thread about catch and release and if it's good or bad . I'll just delete this entire thing if it continues to distract from the main topic which is a 26 pound bag !!! snagged in outlet 3 and bfishn 2
Fish24/7 Posted December 18, 2021 Author Posted December 18, 2021 Since the catch and release comment I made in the original first post has gained more attention than the actual intended topic of discussion I deleted it . And the replies I'm seeing have nothing at all to do with the big bag of bass which was the whole point to begin with . . I removed my original comment because I know how OAF works ,,and this would just turn into a 10 page discussion on eating fish or whatever if I don't stop it now on page 1. Have comments on the really nice bag of bass ? Let's hear them! Catch and release discussion is over. Johnsfolly 1
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted December 18, 2021 Posted December 18, 2021 It was an awesome size bag. Sorry to derail the original intention of the post. I see the forum as an open discussion for anything. My apologies to you if you did not. gotmuddy 1 Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. For the record, I love Bull..but life has given me LOZ for the most part. I hope to spend a lot more time in your neck of the woods soon. My first thought when I saw your post was that these wintertime bags are something else, and they seem to have gotten more regular with the proliferation of the a-rig. My shoulder penalizes me for even thinking about that contraption, so I’ll just stick to my JB and spoons. Mike
