bobby b. Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 Water temperature at the dam area is 48 degrees. I seem to have lost my deep bite, yet I note that Dock still has his at Mid Lake. Is the lake turning over? Question - How does the winter turn over effect YOUR fishing and where do you mostly fish? i.e. dam area, mid lak, upper White, James? Something to talk about for the next cold days. Bobby PS - My wife just tested positive for Covid - Not too bad of a case so far - thank God, this house don't work well without her at near full capacity - she has had her 3 shots and she only goes to Church and curb side pickup for groceries and always wears an N95 mask- rarely leaves the house. - we did have a couple of test in the house but tried to buy more - none available around Branson West - a few came in at Lakeland last night, got a couple but paid twice the price, $35/2 test. Bill Babler Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 Durn, Bobby, that's number 3. You can put it all behind you now as that's your 3 bad things in a row. Speedy recovery to the missus and hope its an extremely mild case. dtrs5kprs, Champ188 and dpitt 3 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Dutch Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 All I can say is my bite was gone yesterday. I fished from Cape to Carr’s and only had 4 bites all day. My neighbor had several more than I. He boated 4 and missed at least that many more. I’ve been catching from 10-20 feet deep but even fishing out to 40 didn’t help. Maybe it is just a weather slump. I hope so. Sorry about your wife. We thought mine had it. Her doctor tested her Monday. Thankfully it was negative. dpitt 1
Quillback Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 Best wished for your wife's recovery. Things were a bit slow up the White yesterday compared to a week ago, but I don't see any turnover going on up there. I'm blaming it on the full moon.

I usually just go dirt shallow up there and it seems to work .

Bill Babler Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 I don't think we are going to see a turn. Seems its staying at upper 40's to low 50's mid-lake. Cooler as always up the river arms. Cool the next few days but back in the 50's next week. February gets here and it will start warming back up. Might get a big March or April snow, but by that time we are most often ticking upwards. Man that moon has been beautiful. I'm with you Jeff. dtrs5kprs and Terrierman 2 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

bobby b. Posted January 20, 2022 Author Posted January 20, 2022 Thanks to all for your concern and prayers. Wife is doing OK. Here is a little more info about Covid - I did not know this - maybe you do. My wife tested positive at home two days before we went to Urgent Care - at Urgent care she tested negative - the health care workers told us that the test we used at home is 99.5% accurate as is the ones they use. They told me that these nasal test will only show true within a 5 day window with day one being when you contracted the virus. Also, at this time there is nothing that can be done unless you are in a really bad way. One of the ways to know is if your O2 falls below 90. They told me that the monoclonal antibodies used to treat Covid is in very short supply because the government decided against this treatment until just recently. Covid can cause other things - in my wife's case - bronchitis. magicwormman, Donna G and big c 1 2
