No -- he's a guy @ColdWaterFshr, @Gavin and I know who built one a few years back.

Yes - still keep in touch with Kip.  He actually built 2 cedar strip canoes.  The first one he and his dad built together.  The second one by himself after Sr. passed away.  He used cedar from deadfalls he found along the Current river, and took great pains not to use any power tools, or as little as possible.  He floats them occasionally.  Has them on display in his basement.  The 2nd one, you can barely see it on the deck, but he inlayed a perfect arrowhead he found on the river.  Very cool seat and paddle too.  The first one he built is the snowy picture.  Anyway - they're both beautiful works of art.

My brother Philip built the cedar strip kayak you see in the picture below (with power tools) and lots and lots of sanding.  I got to paddle it a bit last summer down at Lindenlure.  Very light and fast.

I remember Kipster from the old Conservation message board.   He was a genuine smartass.....but I must say, he does some fine woodwork !

We still float with Kip, Slosh, Todd and the others. WFT! Dunno, what Kip did with his cedar boats, he made 2. He’s been floating an old Disco 169 last couple years. All are doing very well.

Spent the warm evening out in the garage.  Got my canoe seat complete.   I reinforced it with aluminum angle.   I somehow mis measured it.  It is tight as a drum.

If you recall Horace was Nash Buckingham's man servant.  And that was me on the Conservation Cafe.  Mostly in the waterfowling bits.  Horace could have a smart mouth given the opportunity.

                 I only laugh because like a bunch of you was on there. What is so funny is many of those guys were very smart mouthed. And you admit to. Did you moderate yourself Horace? 🤣
