jdmidwest Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 Went into Wally World to pick up a few things. They had marked down some flashlights and headlights, so I picked up a new led with red and blue nite vision. Stepped out and looked over the back yard, there were many little reflections, like mirrors. Got closer to one, spider eyes. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 5, 2022 Root Admin Posted March 5, 2022 We used to do it when we were kids. Hold a flashlight up to your temple and shine it ahead. The grass comes alive with little lights. Of course summer time is the best time. Spiders are everywhere 👻 Johnsfolly, dpitt, Ham and 1 other 3 1

JestersHK Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 They really pop under IR. They say you're never more than 3ft away from a spider. I really find them intriguing when you're not all stuck in your face in the dark... Johnsfolly 1

In Ireland they would say that you were never more than 25 ft from a rat in any town or city larger than a small village. Personally, I prefer the spiders 😉. I have walked back from many a night time small creek fishing trip and have been amazed at the number of spiders that I would see with the LED head lamp. It was lucky that Livie was not on those trips or else she would never go back out again. Quillback and JestersHK 2
Quillback Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 My house is built on a slope with a fairly open crawl pace underneath, back end is high enough to stand up in and it is a good place to store stuff. Termite inspector was in there last fall, he said there are a lot of "cave spiders" in there. I would've preferred he just kept that to himself as I never see them and was better off not knowing.
